SIX WEEKS TO TWELVE YEARS (2020)

I had the pleasure of producing my first feature film. Six Weeks to Twelve Years was the brainchild of my brilliant friend Chris. At the beginning of 2018, he sent me a variety of different screenplays. Our director of photography, Drew, and I read all of them and shared our feedback. But it wasn't until we both finished reading the rough draft of Six Weeks to Twelve Years that we knew we were going to be making a film.

The three of us spent the next year in preproduction, all while working as full-time video editors. And our team of three grew rapidly over the year. I learned so much from producing this film. From working with SAG and sending paperwork back and forth to payroll companies, to planning scenes around high and low tides, to figuring out how to even get a group of all NYC based people up to Maine.

Of course, since we were so low budget we all found ourselves filling various roles beyond our main ones. I was responsible for wardrobe planning in preproduction. And once on set I did all of the actor’s makeup (yes I made all those black eyes!) and acted as Ava in the film. When post production rolled around I found myself volunteering to also color the entire feature film. I was seriously more than thrilled to.

SWTTY was completed in 2020. Chris and I spent a lot of 2020 picking away at color and submitting to festivals. The film premiered at the Charolette Film Festival in 2020.
